VALENTINES DAY PL

The Sugar Rush PL kit is disappearing fast! For my Valentines Day page I asked the kids to each make a card. We also took some goofy family photos just before bedtime. Here it is:

Because it fit better with the page protectors the following page is actually dated before Valentines Day. I used lots of vellum on there. I especially liked how the vellum circles looked like bubbles so I punched out a bunch of different sizes and stapled them to the bath time photo. I colored in some of the veneers with a gold leafing pen.

Before I've always had difficulties printing on vellum. It takes forever to dry and I always manage to smear it. This time I chose the quick print/sketch alternative and the ink dried really fast. Here's the full spread:

RECORDING A BIRTHDAY FOR PL

We started out February with celebrating our son's 6 th birthday. The SC Sugar Rush kit is as if it was made for my photos this month! Both colors and theme. SO perfect! This is my first page for the month:

I loved all the chipboard embellies in the main and addons, and stitched some of them on to my photos. The red numbers card is from the Copper Mountain PL kit. I also used a digi brush to add a number 6 to my son's photo.

I love how Barbara Picnich recorded her daughter's 6th birthday with a large photo and an interview, right here. So I just lifted that page right off. It would be really fun to make that interview a tradition, and see how the answers change.

The cards also went really well with the photos from his birthday party. I didn't need to do anything but add the cards and photos to the page. The photo collages are made with free templates from Paislee Press.

Faces whited out for privacy.

12 IN 14 FEBRUARY

It's time for another 12 in 14 post. The prompt for the month is paint. We recently redecorated our daughter's room and I wanted a record of where all the items came from. I opened up an empty 4x6" document in PSE, added a new layer and stamped a heart shape in the middle of the square. I then added my writing in a third layer, avoiding the stamped heart. Before printing I hid my second layer, and then painted a heart in the middle using Mister Huey's in Inky Black.

There is a prize to be won for participating in each monthly challenge so please visit Nina's blog for a chance to win, and also to see the rest of the layouts by the Stromsvigt DT.

The last of january PL

Just finished my January PL pages. I had a lot of journaling that I wanted to add,so I dug up a few older SC PL cards with lots of room for writing. I wanted to focus on both the light blue and the midnight blue colors in the Copper Mountain kit so I also pulled a few cards from my stash that matched those. I then brought in a bit of pink and repeated both the circle and heart shapes several times. I love the little veneer circle that says READ that came in the High Point addon. The natural wood color didn't go with the rest of the colors in the spread though, so I embossed it with gold glitter zing.

Now I'm looking forwards to the Sugar Rush kit arriving, because my Copper Mountain PL kit is no more!
