July PL

This month I filled two page protectors. I had much more photos than usual and was anxious that I'd run out of PL cards. Instead I hardly used any at all because I had so many photos. I stole ideas from Kelly Noel and Catherine Davis - thanks for the inspo ladies!

Materials: SC PL kit, Winona addon and the Moments cards

I loved the printables this month, so I used a lot of those. Those wonky mini alphas are my favorite ever. I want 10 packs of them! The triangle template from Catherine Davis was perfect for adding more photos to a smaller space. Here is a forum post where she shares how to merge the shapes. Overall I used more digital elements and also printed my journaling. I like how it turned out!

Mini album tutorial

I really wanted to use the Stromsvigt stamps in a mini album. I printed some photos from a recent trip to the beach.

Then I took out the Roundabout and Planetarium kits from Studio Calico. The 6x6 paper pads from the card kit and addons are perfect for this album. For this mini I picked six 6x6 papers that matched the photos

The papers should be folded down the middle. Three of them should have the printed side on the inside and three of them on the outside. After folding them I trimmed off 1/2" at the bottom, so that each individual page will measure 3x5,5". Then I glued them together like this:

I didn't want for the last two pages to be the same, so I cut another patterned paper to 3x5,5 and glued it on top of the last page.

I then went about and added my photos and decorated my pages. To see the full album look here!

To make the cover I cut a fullsize patterned paper to 12x6", and then folded at 3,5" and 4,25" and 7,75" and 8,5". I decorated the front cover and tied a string around it to hold it closed.

Materials: SC Roundabout
scrapbook and card kits, Planetarium scrapbook kit and addons North Star (card) and Jennifer, tags, silver POW, Versafine onyx black stamp pad, a few diecuts sent to me from kind scrappy friends and STROMSVIGT stamps.

Find the stamps I used here!

If you make an album from this tutorial I would love to see it!

Valley High

I love the SC July kit! My best kind of kit to work with is one with lots of patterened papers that are good to use as backgrounds. Lots of that in this kit!

Materials: Valley High scrapbook and PL kit plus addons Jennifer and Winona, Mister Huey's in Inky Black, Versafine onyx black stamp pad, Valley High printables by Geralyn Sy

Banana cheesecake and PL

We made an awesome banana cheesecake for my husband's birthday in June and I wanted to share the recipe.

Frozen banana cheesecake

Crumble 14 graham crackers and mix with 125 grams of melted butter. Cover the bottom of a pie dish with a detachable bottom with the crumbs and butter. Mash 4 bananas. Mix the bananas with 1 tbs lime juice, 400 grams of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sourcream and 1 cup brown sugar. Mix well and pour into pie dish. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours. Take the cheesecake out of the freezer 30-60 minutes before serving. Cover with strawberries.

Hey june

Last summer they opened up a new beach by the stream where we live. The weather was so terrible all summer that we never went. This is or first visit to the new beach:

I used a few scraps I had on my table from working with the SC Roundabout kits. I love the quote that was on the edge strip of the Authentic paper in the Navy Pier addon. The stamps or from Stromsvigt.
