I'm on November picks!

Woohoo! The layout below made it onto the Studio Calico November Picks video. Check it out here!

I also made a layout for the Kit killer challenge, using at least two border punches. The photo is of my kids climbing on to the stroller for our morning walk to daycare.

Using transparancies

I found this cool Fancy Pants transparency kit att Magdas netshop. I used it in this layout:

Materials: SC Field Guide, exclusive stamp from SC Glee Club, SMASH date stamp, OA Boarding Pass sticker.

I'm hoping to use some more of those transparancies in my December Daily. If I write it here enough times I might even get around to doing one. ;D

New Studio Calico kit on sale!

My shopping list this month:
  • Crop Bags
  • JBS Stick Candy Dye Ink
  • More Gray
  • More Kraft
  • More Vanilla
  • Tatting add-on #3
  • Woodgrain Thickers - the exclusive American Crafts ones from Glee Club. I'm so happy about this purchase!
  • Border Stickers - the exclusive Sassafras ones from Glee Club
  • Calendar SMASH Pockets
That's it. So far... :D My middle name is Multiple check-outs. I'm considering some JBS Chewing Gum ink. I went back and forth with the December Daily add-on for the longest time, but then decided not to get it. It's just too pricey for me. I'll make my own. I need to put a dent in my stash anyways. I loved the stamps in add-ons 1 and 2, but I didn't like the rest of the enough to justify buying the entire kits. So that left room for lots of shop items instead. Yay! I'm so happy those woodgrain thickers were in the shop this month. They are amazing, and I'm all out of A's and N's.
So what did you get?

Finally a sunny day!

And I'm able to share a couple of layouts today. The first one is about our last day of summer. I took the kids on a trip into the city. The photos are of my daughter eating a donut. I love these pictures! She makes it look so delish. I LOVED the birds on a wire stamp. On this layout it fit so well. Me and the kids!

Materials: Studio Calico Field Guide kit, SMASH date stamp, letters stamps kit - read about it below!

Awesome stamp set

This is a layout I made with the Field Guide kit from Studio Calico. It's about our walk home from daycare. I LOVE fridays! Even better than the weekend, because the weekend is actually ahead of you. I love getting off early from work and having all the time in the world to walk home. I took this funny photo of my son wearing my sunglasses, and placed myself so that I also caught my own reflection.
Materials: SC Field Guide kit, exclusive border stickers from SC Glee Club, and I wrote the journaling with this amazing stamp set I got on Etsy.

Another "happy mail" opening

I've decided to make it a tradition that my daughter show off the new Studio Calico kit.She loves opening the box with me, and gets all excited when she sees that it's arrived.

"Open it, mamma!"
And she's in her jammies this time, too.

"Is there something in it?"

"Yay, it's full of fun stuff!"
All the bags with my JBS Lemon drop ink on top.
(And one huge zucchini in the background...
Homegrown by my brother :D)

The bags laid out.
Little girl making sure to document it all.
That's her own idea that, to go get her toy camera.
So cute!

The main kit.
This time my girl favored the exclusive chipboard butterflies.
I wasn't nice enough to open them for her, though...

Meadow lark add-on.
Those buttons are the best!
I already used some.

Almanac add-on.
I can't even pick my fave part of this.
I LOVE every little piece!

I already uploaded my first "Field Club" layout to the Studio Calico gallery right here!

Stitching

With this layout I started out with the photo and that orange woodgrain PP that already had a half circle punched out. I decided to make a square. The size of the blue PP matched the Ali Edwards stamp perfectly - coincidence! I then pierced the cardstock by hand using a ruler as a guide. I made a hole every half centimeter. Here's a great tutorial from SC on how to make the best handstitching on your layout!

Materials: Studio Calico's Glee Club kit, Ali Edwards stamp set, brad from Crate Paper (the Random collection), letter stamp set from Artemio, tiny attacher, circle punch, thread
